Peter and Nye are incredibly reliable and turn up promptly at eight every morning. They work very efficiently, without sacrificing in any way the quality of their workmanship. They were happy to come up with a creative solution to give us the balance of storage and room space that we wanted. All other workmen who came onto site were friendly and conscientious and I would say among the best in their field - superb plastering, plumbing, wiring etc. and all to the latest regs. Peter and Nye have an eye for detail and the finished product is of the highest quality both inside and out. They were not the cheapest quote we had but we feel we got excellent value for money. All work is guaranteed and when we had a small problem after they had finished, the came that day to fix it. We really appreciated the planning to completion service they offer, they dealt with project management and building control, so we didn't need to worry about anything. " I appointed Peter Edwards Builders in April 2012 to carry out a complex refurbishment of a 1920's detached property in Northwood, Middlesex. They responded initially to my detailed scope of works and within a couple of weeks I received a detailed estimate. Prior to confirming the order, I met with both Peter and Nye to discuss the works and to review each item priced to ensure that there were no misunderstandings.
Work commenced at the beginning of April and we were given a 6 month programme for the works to be completed, which fitted in well with our plans to rent a property for this period.
The works involved the demolition and temporary propping of almost all of the internal load-bearing walls, installation of circa 24 RSJ's and structural steelwork, a sizeable two storey rear extension, complete rewire and plumbing installation, excavation of the existing concrete oversite in preparation for underfloor heating and external works.
The works were completed 2 weeks ahead of programme and we moved into our newly refurbished property on the 12th October. We are delighted with the final result.
The contract value was a sizeable £275k (exclusive of VAT) and I am pleased to say that we remained on budget through good communication and value engineering, which saved money and covered off a number of variations.
The level of communication throughout the project was exemplary and the standard of workmanship excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend their services. As the Managing Director of a large London property developer, I was naturally a very demanding client and I found Nye and Peter to be very flexible."
